Replacing what would traditionally be a precious stone with a small hidden compartment, this ring shifts value from what is seen to what is kept. Historically, lockets held perfume, scented wax, powdered cosmetics, medicines, relics, tiny prayers or a loved one's hair. Almost anything placed inside this ring becomes difficult to replace. Not because it is rare, but because it has been chosen. Like dust becoming visible in a beam of light.
